Making of This Blog
Hi!
Finally I started a blog after years. If you don't know me, you can check the "About" menu up there (or from the hamburger menu if you're on mobile). On this website, I want to write about various topics that come to my mind. Generally including development (programming), art and philosophy. But in this post I want to write a bit about how I built this blog.
.
Honestly, I didn't do anything special :D It was all AI's work. Right now as I'm writing this post, MimoCode is free and I worked it hard to build this website for me. But it took a while to get to what I wanted.
For inspiration, I used the painting Job by Alfons Mucha from 1897. Yeah I know, it looks nothing like it, I don't even smoke :) But I still needed a source of inspiration to know which direction to go and not get confused.
At first I wanted to use Jekyll which is very suitable for this type of work. Because I didn't buy a host for this blog and I'm displaying it statically. But Jekyll had two problems:
- It was built for GitHub Pages and I preferred Cloudflare Pages for lower limits
- Jekyll was too complex and gave me less freedom to modify and write the logic I needed for processing files and markdown and adding different languages
Maybe I'll make the repo public one day, but I don't know. For now I'm happy with the situation.
.
For subscribing, you can also use the RSS link that's in the footer of all pages. Depending on the language you've selected at the moment, that link will be different.
Anyway, *doesn't know how to end the post*
